This year we will continue to recruit Workshop Leaders (WLs) for our summer programs in Beijing (8/5-8/14), Hangzhou (8/5-8/14), Shanghai (7/29-8/2) and Nanjing (8/4-8/10). Candidates for WLs are typically students who have preexisting commitments (internship or family) in the program locations and would like to help organize a workshop as a summer extracurricular activity; they therefore receive no stipend or reimbursement.
In general, WLs could teach whatever skills that suit their personal interests. However, they must revise their syllabi with the Symposium team. In previous years, WLs have taught skills like creative writing, translation, etc. that are text-based, and public speaking, video production, intro to art history, etc. that are non text-based. Once committed, all WLs will participate in an online training process, as well as a brief on-site training session.
College students from both Western institutions and local schools are welcome to apply. The application deadline is April 30th, and we will contact each candidate for a Skype interview. We will release our final decisions in mid May.
